Rob,

Thi is the car I did not suggest in all your recent posts about cars...it'sa total beast of a Q car aswell. Unless yu spot the little things. Chap pulled up at a garden centre in one and Clare had to drag me away...

Bit stiff on fuel I would say; but what the hell, maybe next or next + 1 for me.

I took a 2.0ltr sport estate out and didn't quite feel happy with the understeer, but then I was in a primera GT which was / is famed for it's handling. The vr4 I have not driven but it would I hope/imagine be brilliant handling compared tothe sport it has to be or it's going to be a handfull on any A road.

They are awesome! I have one!

go to

Club VR4

and say big dave sent ya!

There you will find all the info you need!

Mine is the estate version is mildly tuned and does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds!!!!

Big dave you have a Skoda as well ???

i sort of met you at jap fest this year is was with Birdy from oxford...small world

You car has all stickers over it right??

Joel

It did have stickers all over it yes.........they are now gone and I am back to the stealth look!

This is my Skoda (work in progress)

An Estelle with a 7.2 litre Nitroused V8 with about 800BHP!!!

pauls next venture maybe?

A friend used to have a vr4 and it was fantastic, the acceleration was imense but totally smooth. As for the handling it was stuck to the road like being on rails (active yaw control). The auto gearbox has a habit of breaking and your looking about

My brother is one of the regulars on Club VR4 and he has had three Galants in total, two of which were VR4s, including the current V plate one. I have driven his VR4 and it is a very quick car and stealthy too.

Great looking cars and probably will never go wrong but I know the fuel bills are huge. I think he is lucky if he see's 20mpg.

big dave...that is SOME work in progress! crikey.

If I'm caning it, i'm lucky to see 20MPG in my Octy. That remap shot my fuel economy to ribbons. However, I'm only doing about 6-7000 miles a year now, so it's not as big an issue.

I like the fact that they are stealthy and relatively inexpensive, but I guess I'll have trouble getting hold of one. Am I right in thinking they were import only?

No, you can get UK Ralliart cars. My brother's current VR4 (on a V plate) is a UK car.

They are hard to get hold of though and be prepared to travel for a good one. Are you after a saloon or estate? As the estates are more common... although the saloons really look the part IMO.

Most likely an estate, although I'm going off the idea now, I've looked at a few on Autotrader and none of them look very nice.

Do It Yourself Dave?

Looks fab, I have always loved the styling of the Galant, looks so mean which is good for me on this car :D

If they were a little less at 6mth's I have one now and I imagine this place would not be here. I do love them though.

Tell me this is not the nuts!

i have wanted one of those for years

must be one of the best stealth cars ever :D

I agree - bloody gorgeous motors.

All the work (including the graphics) on my car has been done by me - my own blood sweat and tears have turned this ultra rapid stealth car in to an absolute loony car!

Standard 0-60 is around the 6 second mark but mine has cracked 3.9 and a 1/4 mile of 12.7 @ 106mph  Not bad for an Auto!

Sorry, maybe I wan't clear. I like the car and the looks, but all the examples I've looked at appear quite tatty and ill-treated.

I've seen this motor, and a couple of others, at Santa Pod about a monthish ago, it is awsome and kicks proper ar5e on the strip

OK for those that haven't found it elsewhere
