I have just taken delivery of my 10 plate vRS and I want to change the mainbeam, indicator and sidelightbulbs but the manual states I have to remove the complete headlight unit. Anyone done this and is it difficult to do.

As you've got a vRS you'll find that the sidelight bulbs never work though.

Dead easy -- 10 second job to whip the whole unit out. Simply pull on the plastic hook towards the centre of the car, and pull the unit straight out. Same with replacing -- just push unit back, and it clicks into place.

Bit more than 10 seconds, as there's also a plastic nut to undo before the unit will come out... Maybe 30 seconds a side

Just changed my H1's and it is really really easy

BUT

The wiring plug is a sod to get undone.

I gave up and let it hang there while I changed them.

Just slide back in..give a gentle push and it clicks back.
