Sounds like a dodgy singles ad eh?

I bought a 2001 Octavia vRS today. It needs tyres but after a drive home the traction control light came on and stayed on followed shortly by the engine check light.

The idle is fine, it pulls well but I only gave the loud pedal a short prod not wanting to cause any damage but needing to see if it would still boost. I did remove the plastic engine cover before the lights came on but this was purely to look underneath, noticed it has what looks like homemade coil pack tie downs.

I also removed the air box cover just to see what the filter was like, it has a nice pipercross panel filter

Anyway, I'm rambling. I really like the car despite it having a few teething troubles and would really appreciate it if anyone local could read the codes, offer advice, hit me for buying a lemon....
