Although there will be no illuminations tonight :D As i cannot find the wiring .....!!!!

Does anyone have a wiring diagram & can point me in the right direction ??

Cheers

If these are after market fit there is no wiring, and the light switch wont have a front fog position either. You can wire them up, using a switch fitted above the radio in one of the blank slots, but the fogs must only come on, with a minimum of side lights on. So you will need suitable switch, a relay, 8 amp rated wiring.

New switch feed taken from side lights, then to relay. Main power for fogs via relay from battery, with an inline fuse between relay and battery.

Or you can buy the proper light switch (£70) and wire the car as per factory.

Hi MoggyTech.

Car does have the Factory Turn & Pull Switch already Fiited & Illuminates the Front Fog Led on the Dash (1st Pull) Then Illuminates the Rear Fog (2nd Pull), Im sure the Combi Tdi came with front Fogs as standard !! ?? But i could be wrong ...

Cheers.

Yellow tint for the euro look?

I dont know how much of the original wiring loom Ross used when he built the car. I guess the loom terminations are under the bonnet somewhere with the wiring to the actual lights themselves missing. You may need to make some wires to run to the lamps with the appropriate connections to the cars main loom. Have a look under the bonnet and see if you can see some connectors hanging around with nothing plugged in. It could also be that if he used the vRS loom that he did not even connect the fogs themselves elsewhere on the loom as he had no intention to fit them.

I'm glad you've done this Dean, They're something I've always thought this car needed.. wasn't a fan of the mesh look..

Planning any other OEM installations? :)

Think Mannyo might be right though I'm afraid.. there's a big chance Ross just didn't bother with the cabling for these if no intention of ever installing them. Though, that said.. I don' think lopping them off would be a logical move so they may well be tied up somewhere up and behind the bumper? How hard did you look when you had the bumper off? I'm guessing quite hard though.

are those audi s3 wheels i spy. :p

I had a good poke abput & could not see anything, although the light was not the best, i will have another closer look in the day as time was getting on, I am thinking that i will have to wire afresh :D

I did think that there was to much mesh & perhaps a little close to Erm ... Dare i say ... Max Power :giggle: Im trying for more of a Sleeper look with Meaty undertones :D

Yours did, certainly. ;)

As others have said, it probably more depends how much of the original wiring was left.

Trace the wiring for the front right from the MAP sensor as they kind of branch off from one another on my wiring loom. The front left foglight wiring was in a bunch branching off from the horn/washer bottle from memory. The wiring is unlikely to have been chopped off as I cannot see why Ross would have done that in the conversion, so hopefully they have just been tucked away somewhere. :)

It might be easier to just remove the front bumper.

Cheers jason.

I did fit some Air horns a while back & there was an Extra plug which i thought was for the Fogs by the original Horn, Although the other night it had no output wghen i tested & was/is a different size connector compared to the Foglamp bulbs but that could be due to the fact that the original Fogs were not Vrs Type. I also never thought to check Fuse's, seeing as time was getting on :D.

I will revisit again soon.

Thanks for the Pointers :thumbup.

If memory serves me, Ross used the wiring loom from the donor vRS in the combi, Extending the loom at the rear to reach the lights and such!
