The Skoda workshop manuals (ELSA) arent on disc as yet (or at least not in the UK).

VW, Audi and SEAT have been using the system for a number of years, been told the Skoda version is being done, out next year.

Look on ebay.

Just buy an Elsa dvd for the vw. The Golf gti is very similar to the vrs.This is what i use anyway, Although the haynes manuals are very good.

I would be very surprised if this skoda dvd worked.I tried Elsawin v3.4 for the Skoda and no luck.It did slightly support the mk2 though.:thumbdwn:

The support for the MK1 is very poor in Skoda Elsawin 3.3

As Stu says the so-called Skoda Elsawin has virtually zero Mk1 Octavia coverage. As said, mechanical stuff is covered with Golf 4 info, but it doesn't help with Octy specific stuff :(
