Stone Guard Tape

Featured Replies

Something Speedster mentioned in another post got me thinking; is this tape part of the rough road pack.

So the question to all Monster owners is as I don't know, do those who have the tape fitted as standard also have the rough road pack or not as the case maybe.

I am just wild guessing here, but I opted for the rough road package and the rear mudguards.

There is a slight chance this film is coupled with the mudguards from factory, however the rough road package is a more logical bet.

Please specify if you have the rough road package or the mudguards from factory.

Part numbers:

5L0 807 905 B (Protective foil left)

5L0 807 906 B (Protective foil right)

Please use part numbers as reference.

Always specify VIN when ordering.

Hi Speedster,

I take it rear mudguards = mudflaps, if so not a factory option in the UK; dealer / DIY only. rough road pack also limited to the SE (Ambition) and Elegance (Experience) over here.

TP

I have 1.2 TSi. I have not rough road package and mudflaps are installed after. I dont have protective foil.

rough road factory option

mud flaps dealer option

mine has the clear plastic tape thingies

On previous cars where "gravel rash" has been a problem, I have used a heavy duty clear plastic tape.

Hey, good spot TP! Perhaps the individual components of the rough road package are available through Skoda Parts?

My snowmonster does have the rough road pack ( factory fitted ) and has the foil stone guards, he dosen't have any mud flaps.

According to the brochure (here in The Netherlands), rough road package is available only to the 4x4. I would assume then the protective foil is fitted as standard to those models. Some countries add the foil on any model as well.

The foil however can be ordered irrespective of model as a part number through your dealer.

But exactly what to include the rough road pack?

Rough Road package appears to only be available on 4x4 models, and comprises of additional protection underneath, such as sump, gearbox and tank protection plates.

Thank you for info.

Hi,

the rough road pack as far as I'm aware is available in the UK on both 4x4 and 2WD but only in SE or Elegance trim.

The primary component is a steel rather than plastic engine bay under tray, there is also heavier duty plastic used in parts of the floor pan covers and thick plastic shields protecting the rear axial beams and coil springs. Added to this it's looking likely is this stone guard tape.

Note above; the steel try does not fully protect the Angle Gearbox containing the front final drive, front differential and Drive chain
