Octavia vRS - loosening up

Featured Replies

Getting a 54 plate octavia vrs next week, just wondering how many miles before you notice the engine loosening up, the reason i'm asking is because the one i test drove didn't pull that well. :snail:

I reckon 10k miles is a good figure, it will be really tight to start with and use a little oil. After about 5k things start to improve no end, and I have not had to topup the oil in ages now.

Have done just under 5k in mine and used about 1/4 of the engine oil its loosening up well handling is getting a bit more predictable either that or i am getting used to planting the boot earlier in corners ....but if it gets better towards the 10k mark then my smile can only get bigger

got mine with 1300miles on the clock so the running in period was about done.

done 14K miles now (had the car since the end of Jan this year) and its better than i ever imagined.

mine started to loosen up and feel a lot better as it got nearer 10K,i then had it re-mapped and its been fantastic since then, hasn't used any oil in between it changes(5K).

its now done 32K and feels better than ever.
