yep... im fed up of it every morning when the temp drops below 4

As far as I know you cant.

Just about all the other warnings like seat belts, washer fluid, brake pads etc can be coded out of a dash insert but not the ice warning.

on my tdi it doesn

what seat belt warning? mine doesnt beep if i dont wear my seat belt..... explain.....

On mine if you keep your display set to temperature it will only beep once when you hit a low temp, after that if the temp rises and falls again it stays quiet.

Thus may have to use the old fashioned 'wrist watch'.......

Sorry to confuse the issue, the Fabia vRS doesnt have them or brake pad sensors, was just using them as examples of things that CAN be coded to different vehicles, the temp warning however is either fitted or it isnt.

As soon as it has stopped flashing (about 2 seconds) you can change it back to the clock... Personally its not too much hassle for the sake of safety

fair enough - wrist watch it is then

So I could get my dealer to silence the annoying low fuel beep then?

is that really advisable? - I would think its definitely the one thing you would want to know about!

Just to add on the end of this, I don't get an audible seat-belt beep on my Fabia (and mine's an Elegance!) - nor when the temp drops below 5degC. It just displays it on the dash, I usually leave it on MPG - never clock. I don't want to know what time it is. :D

Regards,

No, try putting some fuel in, that usually stops that :(

You should count yourself lucky you don't drive a Citroen Picasso (in more ways than one !).

Friend gave me a lift to the football yesterday and the electronic dash constantly flashes the temperature when it gets below 4c. I found it really annoying as a passenger - hate to think what its like at night

Not very useful if you drive a Picasso in Norway, then...

The low temperature warning seems to make exactly the same noise as the one you get in airliners, to tell you to put your seatbelts on when you fly into turbulence!

So far, it's not been accompanied by a stewardess offering boiled sweets, though.

My '01 Elegance doesn't beep (fortunately ;)) when the ice warning comes up, but I do have the pleasure of the seat belt beeps every time I get in the car and the beep of the washer fluid bottle running dry :D Time to get VAG-COM out ;)

Dont know about you guys but every time my low fuel warning go's, and the window wash for that matter, I have to go home and change my underpants. And believe me if it goes off while your reversing (and you've got reversing sensors like I have) you've got to empty them first.

My low fuel warning has come on once, when the car was first deliverd with small amounts of fuel in.

I have never heard it since and will probably never hear it again, keep her topped up fella's :D

I think all the warnings are useful including the ice one. However the low fuel beep does seem to occur very early - the "range" still shows 70 miles on mine at first beep...

*bump*

Does anyone know if the ice warning beep can be turned off? I know when it's cold.
