Very short notice - but I've just been looking at my new work roster, no free weekends for ages.

So this Saturday (after I've finished work) ....

Thorne meet III

Meeting 1pm at The Punch Bowl, Fieldside, Thorne, DN8 4BE

Just off J6 M18

So easy reach from Hull / Leeds /Sheffield /Grimsby /Lincoln /Nottingham

Meet at 1pm, bite to eat, then a "scenic" drive....

the scenery might be a bit flat!

But it does take in Three Counties, albeit you might blink and miss one of them!

Just had a meal at Punch Bowl,

about to reccie the route,

just in case there's any roadworks etc..

Some of the SOCGB are in Chesterfield this weekend,

so I've tipped off their organiser about this.

So hopefully a few more to join us

Just back at the pub, took it nice and steady with the "rush hour",

and some sharp showers to contend with.

Route seems to flow quite logically,

took just under an hour for 37 miles and averaged 57mpg.

Possibly the most selective gathering a meet, just the two of us, but we had a good natter over a meal in the pub.

The free entertainment of watching people arriving at the pub, trying to work out what the cars were was well worth it.

Then we went into movie star mode with a cross country drive, again lots of head scratching as we passed.

Oh yeah, suppose I should say I was in my 1965 Ocatavia and Franco was in his Zastava Yugo 311.

Aww. Shame I couldn't make it!

The pug needed more work than was originally thought/planned. A missed Brisky meeting and £247 later we have the car back!

Will have to arrange another one with more notice this time! It's a nice little pub and you can't grumble at the £3.99 lunch deal!

Hi Phil,

It was definitely a case of rarity over quantity.

Bizarrely a Lada Riva drove past the pub whilst I was waiting for Franco to arrive.

I assumed it was Martin from the Lada club & that he'd turn around,

but nope, I got a txt saying he was busy, so that was just a very rare spot!

I've got an idea for another date, but I might be down south, so I'll have to have a little think.
