locked out of my car

Featured Replies

Dear forum people i'm hoping that once again someone will be able to help me. I'm currently in spain and on the first day of my holiday my luggage was stolen which included my car & immobiliser keys. I drive a 1994 favorite 1.3 does anyone know how easy/ hard it is to get replacement keys or have the locks replaced, where i would call to do this and if i can can get a replacement deactivator key for the immobiliser. I'm currently still in spain so can only check the forum once a day but id like to get the ball rolling otherwise my car will have to stay outside my parents house forever!

kind regards

Karen

It should be possible , if rather complicated, to get replacement keys, for your car, by supplying vehicle details to a Skoda main dealer, I don't know if this might help but Skoda Spain's tel number is 902456575, and if you get in touch they may be able to help you. If you have something similar to AA 5* motor insurance, they too should be able to assist you, as should you vehicle insurer. Hope you get sorted out soon, and have a good holiday.

Thanks for that, i think i have to drive past a dealer on the way back from the airport so will stop in

Another option is to check your travel insurance documents as this may well cover it and would potentially be a cheaper way of doing it that going near the car insurance.

If you have a spare key, and can drive for now, it might be easier to just buy a switch (Possibly key operated), put it in line on the ignition and hope that will keep the car safe until you drive home.

FWIW you can often get items posted to your hotel if you're staying in the same place, so might well be able to get some sent out to you from the UK if anyone on here knows where to get them.
