Which is cylinder 3 ?

Featured Replies

As in the title, car is mis-firing, plugged in my VAG reader and its come back with cylinder number 3 fault, just need to know which one out of the two middle cylinders it is?, this is from looking at the car from the front by the way.

This is on a Mk1 octavia VRS

think its just a coil gone but just want to ckeck its not just popped off (will do both but just in case its something else its good to know!)

Many thanks

Chris.

IIRC you count from the timing belt end, which is the left hand end if you're looking at the engine

Cheers fella, going to replace them all any way as they are due to go soon , the car has done 86k

I'm pretty sure mine are the originals too at 125k. The car was bought from a Skoda dealership and came with every receipt for past work and I've not seen anything to say the coilpacks have ever been changed. I guess either the new style ones were fitted from standard in late 2002 or I've just been lucky
