Electric Window Motor Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Hello

I have an Mk1 Octavia SLXi 1999. The rear n/s window motor has failed and I need to get a new one. Now, there is the possibility of getting a motor that fits the passenger door on a MK 4 Golf.

Would anyone know if these "should" fit, I have been told that it would but that could just be someone trying to sell it. Would the central locking still work etc?

Cheers

Anyone? Need to get it soon if it will fit.

Thanks

Jon

Is it the motor or the regulator that has failed? If you got a noise like wire being twisted together, it may the regulator. Parts about £60 iirc and a common problem.

Sorry for taking ages to reply, I never received an email to say someone replied :)

No, its the motor mate, the regulator is new. As I said someone said they had a golf Mk4 motor which fits it, but I wasn't sure, so thought I would check with those in the know :)

Did you ever get an answer to this post. I've got the same problem. I fitted the golf mk4 motor to the drivers door in my octavia (01) it works the drivers door window but the central locking doesnt work nor the control of the rest of the windows in the car.

The ecu attached to the new motor looks very different to the old one. Is it possible to re-wire it so that it works or is it completely incompatible?

Thanks, Matt
