New front tyres

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just rejoining the forum, been away since it went down and then redone. Looks good i must admit.

Front tyres were gonners and i had them replaced with some Perille P6000's. One thing i wasnt too sure about is the wave tread.

On the right wheel the wave is flowing in to out from the outer half. However its the opposite for the left wheel. Looks odd i must admit. I checked another car on my street and it was the same with it. However not too sure if this the standard or where there is a specific right and left tyre.

Is there a direction arrow on the tyres, I'm guessing not. If not look for the word Inside or Outside on the tyre, both tyres should have Outside on them if they have an asymmetric patten. This is to prove that a Directional or Asymmetric tyres has been fitted the right way.

writing is on both tryes on the outside. nothing to indicate outside/inside in words or markings

Really need input from a P6000 user

Bump

anyone got any idea please?

P6000's... you're brave! :S

Why do people still buy Pirelli ditchfinders? ;)

Incidentally, IIRC they're not officially asymmetric tyres, but they don't look symmetrical.

Why you say that? The superb isnt a highly powered sports saloon. My seat cupra on the other hand needed some Eagle F1's.

The P6000 last a long time and my milage is less than 5000 a year. Wear with the superb is high. Considering im not planning to race anyone, the P6000's should be fine. Ive read some good and bad things about every tyre out there. You belt a heavy car in the rain on a 90 degree bend then of course you are asking for trouble!
