Petrol vRS

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm looking at buying a petrol vRS. This one in particular:

http://www.skoda.net.r66.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=600917248

I'm a bit confused about the specs that are available....

Are climate control and a centre armrest standard? I definitely want both of these.

It seems it's possible to retrofit cruise control (gonna aim to get the dealer to do this), bluetooth and iPod connection - which should get the car pretty much how I want it. Is the best option for bluetooth one of the Fiscon kits? And some sort of Dension for the iPod link? Which products in particular do people recommend? What happens to the CD changer with the Dension kit and what kind of control/info do you get on the stereo?

Are there any other particular things I should be looking out for?

Thanks in advance.

This has both anyway

Welcome :)

Hi again

After some looking around (mainly on here) it looks like I need the maxidot computer for my plans of fitting bluetooth and iPod.

It looks like Shark Performance will do a retro-fit, but how easy are they to get hold of and what parts are required?

I'm guessing one of these:

Would do the job?

Does anyone know the proper Skoda part number so I can attempt to get one thrown in when buying the car?

Cheers

Looks like the same spec as my car. IMO I wouldnt want to spend a great deal more to get those 'upgrades', are they really worth the hassle retro fitting them?

Also that looks like 17" alloys not 18 as stated in the add?

Bluetooth is definitely worth it IMO - my last car had it and it's very useful. iPod maybe not so much but would be nice.

What I really want is a car that I can fit the extras to as and when, rather than ending up with one that I can't actually upgrade or have to mess around getting a maxidot.

Those wheels do look a bit small now you mention it - it doesn't actually bother me (would probably prefer the 17s to be honest), but might make a nice bargaining point!!

You just need the complete maxidot dashpod as per your link. Mine came from Skodateile and I had it fitted by Shark Performance  .

Some dealers will deny that retrofitting maxidot is possible. Others have attempted the job with varying degrees of success.
