Photo competition w/c 29 March

Featured Replies

apologies for the slight delay and the start of a thread on Tuesday not Monday

This weeks topic:

Your vehicle at sunrise or sunset

An opportunity twice a day so should allow for a load of entries

That is if we see the sun this week..... Our local weather says heavy rain / snow till at least the weekend. :(

Cheers

Dave.

yeah i set it when the sun was shining in through my window this morning conveniently forgetting the forecast for heavy rain or snow!

How about

sunrise/sunset (or failing occurance of either of those a night time shot)

I wasn't complaining or owt. :) How about stick with the sunrise / sunset and keep the night shot as a future catagory.

Cheers

Dave.

This is an older photo but I like it.

Taken in Dunedin on NZ's South Island in 2006

That's a gorgeous sunset- Dunedin is lovely... are the Albatros still there?

I think so! We only went to see the penguins :)

I don't recall any penguins... but it's a long time since I was there (18 years ago!) but I loved the place- it felt very British and had driven down the gravel coast road...excuse my memory can't remember if it was to/from Dunedin or Invarcargill?? I went on a small yacht out to the Albatros nesting areas the sun was shining and it was a great day!

I'll have to have a root around for my photos and diaries from that trip, was in NZ for about 4 weeks on North and South Islands, and scan some onto my laptop!! when I get a minute!

Got to go and cook some bacon butties for the boys! have a good night down there!

All best wishes to you and your good lady!

The coast road's not gravel any more :) But there are still gravel roads all over the place. I try to avoid them in the Skoda :)

Invercargill's on the South Coast..

Dunedin's nice. Bit of a student town nowadays but it has the Cadbury factory, Speights brewery, NZ's only castle, penguin sanctuary and all sorts!

Clicky

A shot I took a while ago of my car. Still fairly proud of this one as a) I am no photographer.... and B) was a point & click job with a cheap old digital camera. Not bothered about the competition as obviously this is a real old pic, not a fresh one. :)

That's pretty dramatic- looks like the sun is a meteor about to hit the sea!!

or on an Easter theme (vaguely religious -very tenuous link!!) it looks like an illuminated path so you can walk on the water to find "the light".

The more you look the more you see...

...may be someone should start a photo interpretation thread for interesting/unusual photos- could prove entertaining :giggle: or enlightening even :wonder:

Best wishes

Lady Penelope
