new vrs

Featured Replies

hello ....

after a close shave ive decided to go for a new VRS

now has anybody out there had/come across/or know of any dealers that do cracking deals

please odnt mention DTD as i have a px and they no help when you mention px

thanks

Challenge the dealers you speak to with the DtD price, if they want your business then they should get close to it (or beat it in some cases) I did this with mine. I think my local dealer was £300 more than DtD so I went with my local dealer. It saves me the aggro of a long journey to collect the car and hopefully the local dealer (who will service it) might just look after me a little bit better (a faint hope maybe!)

Rainworth in Mansfield seem to have a good rep on here for challenging DtD prices.

Why not DTD? They will be loads cheaper and the likes of webuyanycar will give you the same price as trade in.

who is your local dealer .....

David,

Your near me - I ordered my new vRS from Central Skoda in Birmingham who beat the DTD price by £250. I just eamiled them the DTD price and asked if they could beat it, I also asked what they would give me for my car as part ex.

I emailed every Skoda dealer in the country and Central Skoda were the cheapest - and one of my nearest. It was meant to be!!!!

even with p/x a good dealer should be able to give you a good deal as per dtd. My advice is shop about and see what you get. It does not cost to haggle

Snap i got my vrs from central ;)

I guess I had less luck haggling with my local dealers.

DTD was offering over £1000 less than the 0% VAT offer.

My local dealer (on a specific 'special offer' day) would only drop £100 off list price.

My next nearest said they wouldn't discuss deals over the phone - I then said I was looking for them to at least get half way towards the DTD price (i.e. £500 off) and was it worth me coming over in person to negotiate? They said no it wasn't.

I phoned my third nearest and said that if they could get anywhere near the DTD price I would drive over there and sign the paperwork on the spot. They said they'd have to do some calculations and call me back. That was 3 weeks ago, they still haven't called!

I thought about going further afield, but I figured if I was going to have to travel outside my area anyway, I might as well just order if from DTD. So I did :)

ill give them a try thanks, did they give you a good px as well, ive found a couple of times when ive swapped cars that they discount cars but px is rubbish

did you get much reply from many dealers, ill think ill give emailing all dealers a try over the next few days

especially now the VAT free is staying for a bit longer

I wouldnt rely on the idea that you get a better deal doing a part exchange than you do flogging the car yourself. You don't. I can readily understand not wanting to go through the process of selling the car your self but you will probably get an extra £1000 for doing so, still your choice though. It would be worth looking at we buy an y car or simply phoning around dealers to get the book price, that is the most you will ever get on a part exchange anyway.

I've phoned my 4 nearest dealers today to see how close to the £17,605 price DTD quoted they could get, haven't managed to get one below £18,700 as yet and one told me to use the Skoda website and deduct 17.5%!!!

ACSC

What are you speccing for that?

What are you speccing for that?

Met Paint

Xenon

F+R parking

Maxidot

Auto Mirror

Mats

Steel Wheel

Rear Sunblind

Is that a CR vRS estate?

Mats are standard.

Call Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield, they quoted me about the same as DtD.

I didn't bother with DtD personally, as I had a P/ex

I walked into a dealer and quoted all the non VAT book prices and got them all.

However, one garage tried to only give me £5500 as a p/ex, I ended up getting £7000 from another delear :)

Try Gordon Lamb at Chesterfield (Chris Maddison), they gave me a really good price (after a bit of haggling) and Rainworth couldnt get anywhere near it!!
