pah! Who needs a 2 post lift!

OK - For some jobs I suppose it helps a damn large amount (eg: Turbo swapping :giggle: ) but today I got under my courtesy Micra and did the garage a favour by finding out why the exhaust has been rattling quite a lot. Soon found a snapped clip holding a heatshield together, so removed it and got a new one from Halfrauds. I love my wooden ramps and the best bit is I got them free from my local freecycle group, so there's no chance of them collapsing due to me having made them.... Very solid ramps indeed!

Up on the ramps :D

'Fixing the exhaust', ahhhem, you just can't help yourself can you, admit it, you're modifying the Micra :giggle:

I remember as a kid when we used to blast up and down the street on our rollerblades, i got my dad to build us a ramp, about 2 foot high made from 1/2" ply very sturdy construction with him being a chippy.

Anyway, the miserable old geezer down the end of the road, "go play down your own end you little ****s" kinda guy decides he has had enough and attempts to drive over the ramp in his Austin Montego to destroy it.

It resulted in an epic failure on his part as his car is now resting on its sill 2ft in the air without so much as a scratch on the ramp.

Ahhh those were the days!

Free, easy to use and safer than many 2-arm lifts I've seen. What more can you ask for.

If you keep the rise to 125mm you can make a set of short ramps (highest part of the ramp will fit under the lowest part of the bumper) for an unlowered Octy.

Yes, the one "problem" with these ramps is I need a "helper" bit of timber to get the mongrel on to them, as the splitter rubs on the ramp before the wheels start to go up it..... :giggle:

Air Hostesses have little Trolley's like that :giggle:

Your Right, Who needs a car Lift :D

If ever it got to the point of me needing to build a whole drive-on ramp setup like the above, I will just go to my mate's garage and get on their 2 post lift. :D
