Radio reception going missing

Featured Replies

I tend to listen to radio 2 during the day, and the reception and sound starts to crackle then everything disappears, the display is not affected, this is on my MFD3, to get it back I have to select another station,, I have the aerial plugged into the inner socket so that the RDS works could it be the aerial base???? thats causing this

It's very likely that the aerial base is doing this as I'm fairly sure they have a signal booster in the base which has been known to go wrong.

Yep you have the dreaded aerial bug.Water gets into the booster and frys it so pop down to your local dealer and see if they will give you a new one.(In my case they didn't Suk said as i was still recieving a signal it wasn't broke,But as soon as i drove under a branch hey presto no radio 2.Cost me £27 quid for a new one.) Hope you get better results than i did.

Had mine replaced under warranty last week. Try pressing menu button for >20sec you should then see in top left of radio display ''Antenna Off''. Ask the dealer to switch the antenna on, if he can't do it (and he can't :giggle: ) he should be obliged to fix it. As others have said it is a very common problem with all VAG cars.
