Back in a fabia again - Machine polishing begins in earnest!

No idea, sorry. :D

The MZ stuff is just normal gunk, not "hard" at all. The Collinite wax is quite hard though but is easy to apply and remove, as long as you don't leave it on too long (which I nearly did today....)

Nice improvement - GJ ;)

Don't fancy whipping out the electric back windows then Jase ;)

Or the net under the parcel shelf?

Or the mud flaps?

I miss my elegance a little ;):D

Not planning a nice sand interior conversion for the mongrel then?.. get the GTi seats done at SS?

I did like the body coloured roof rack strips. ;) Gave me an idea for mine! :giggle:

I'm on the 4 wheels today which is proving interesting! They are not in the best condition and am going the hardcore method - wonder wheels and alloy wheel paint! Even wonder wheels isn't cutting through all the brake dust though! I think some of it has chemically merged with the alloy! :S

On to wheels this morning! Good excuse to test out the new torque wrench! (red handled jobbie leaning against jack)

It's a beast! I wish I knew where my 4th axle stand was though as had to leave the rear left quarter on the jack rather than a stand.

You can see where I slightly misplaced my piece of card between the rim and tyre as I went around on the middle wheel. Hopefully should come off with some other gunk of mine.

is this your car jase,or one you have borrowed while the mighty mongrel is off the road? if its the latter your welcome to borrow my motor next time

It is my "loan car" whilst the mongrel is off the road again. Well, it needed doing, and I am sure I will get some form of compensation for all the effort put in :D

Nice work, are you going to shoe-horn a VR6 with a turbo into this bad boy :)

Finished now. Here's the 2 front wheels which were absolutely shocking before but a sanding down of the rim, masking off, one coat alloy wheel paint silver & one coat lacquer and I think they are looking a lot more respectable.

Top work Jason! im impressed some good results with the machine polish. B)

Cracking work there Jason.

Looks like a whole different Motor

I love the before and after shots.

Make sure you change the front badge Jason - Will finish the car off a treat.

Good results there. I'd have gone for Menz Intensive Polish first though, then passed each panel with FP as a second stage. But saying that the correction looks good

Usually would do, but the bottle for power finish had the same cutting indicator as final finish, so assumed both cut as hard as one another. :)

You know you used a clay bar on this, and they are a little abrasive.. Do you HAVE to follow a clay bar with a machine polish or can you just wax it up?

My paint doesn't have to much damage, but it is quite rough so I'd planned to clay bar it, but the last thing I want to do is clay bar it and find I've inflicted marks or hazing intended to be removed by a polish or pad, rather than just waxing over.

Yes - if not really swirly, etc, then you can just wax after clay. :)

Good work Jason! I spend a lot of time on Detailing World, and as nice as it is to see supercars and luxury motors getting the full treatment, there's something very satisfying about seeing a more humble car being transformed

You saying a fabia is just "humble"? :D

Humble but worthy ;)
