Hi

I have a 2006 MY Octavia VRS tfs which has done 26,000 miles. I have the Bluefin stage 1 remap which I have been very pleased with and it has only ever ran on V Power. Everything else is standard - I have the latest VAG DV on as the original split. What should I do next to get more power. It is my family car, so it needs to retain its driveability and not make too much noise!

I await suggestions

How about handling tweeks? Rollbars etc.

If your car is already putting 200+ bhp to the front wheels there's not a lot of benefit to trying to put even more through unless you spend a lot of time past 100 mph and like having the traction control light on all the time at low speeds. I'd fit a Whiteline Anti-lift kit (Do a search for WALK on this forum) and bigger anti-roll bars so you can use the power you've got better.

Thanks for the suggestions. Still like the idea of more power though. Has anyone had experience of Bluefin Stage 2?

More power is not the way to go - listen to the guys saying handling is the way forward.

I used to annoy the hell out of much faster cars on trackdays in my Cinq Sporting - yeah it had about 20bhp more than standard (which meant it was only 75bhp) but it had adjustable Konis with Eibach springs and a stiffer ARB, It used to drive people nuts because while they could reel me in on the straights, I'd drive around them on the corners. I had one guy in a Renault 5 Turbo come up to me at Castle Coombe demanding to know why the hell I was overtaking him on the twisty stuff when he had pver twice the power!! It also helped that I had tarox disks, ebc pads and stainloess brake lines so I could go deeper into the corner in the first place :-)
