cornering lights

Featured Replies

Hi, I have noticed mention of cornering lights on the new (or slightly old now) Fabia and wanted to know, is this a switchable feature or do they have to be manufactured in at the build stage or be retro-fitted?

What I mean is, can the feature be turned on, with the VAG-COM jobbie I keep reading about or does the feature have to be fitted. There are 2 types, I beleive... Turning headlights and fogs that switch one side on as you turn corners. I have the Greenline, which has fogs fitted, and also different headlights lights to lower spec models. Some seem to have frosty glass, where you cant see in the lights, mine have the see through ones, where you can see the bulb fittings. (Bit like spotlights)

Any help on this would be appreciated.

In addition, is there any other interesting features that can be switched on, on this model? I have only been SKODA'D up for a few months, so getting to know them, bit by bit.

Many thanks for helpful info, thanks for any puns, gags, etc and for the knockers out there.... I KNOW WERE YOU LIVE! :giggle:

Cornering fogs have to be ordered as a factory fit option and as far as I am aware , thay are only availible on the Facelifted Fabia Mk2 , I dont think they were fitted to any earlier Fabia. As fir enabling stuff vai VAGCOM I will have to bow to someone with superior knowledge.

You can order them factory fitted for the first mk2 here in Denmark.

Yes, cornering foglights and headlights were available on the pre-facelift car. For the headlights you'd certainly need some hardware, not sure about the foglights though.

I think you need different hardware for the cornering foglights - they appear to have a different lense to the standard fogs. I suspect that they may need additional sensors too.

I know mine are a factory fitted option combined with curve projector lights.
