Stonechip damage on the Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have seen comments on several posts from members who have experienced stonechip damage to the windscreen and rear wheel arches of their Yeti`s.

Is this a widespread problem or design issue with the Yeti or, just a few owners who have been unlucky due to the current state of the roads this winter?

I am due to collect my Yeti in about two weeks and would value the opinion of other owners. Should we be fitting the protective film on the rear wheel arches that I think is part of the off-road pack?

Regards,

Del

I think it is a problem for everyone at the moment. The roads have taken a severe pounding this winter and there are loads of stones around. I know the front of the Freelander is peppered.

Did anyone ever confirm as to whether the protective film was part of the off road pack?

A few people have referred to it being as such but I cant recall anyone getting it confirmed??

Thanks in advance

I don't have the protective film on my new 1.2 TSI S model. Also, on the way home from picking him up a stone hit my windscreen but luckily I don't think that it marked it. Maybe the upright window is more vulnerable than more steeply raked screens. Anyhow, I will keep my distance.......

Is there an Armourfend pack you can get for this car? Or a dealer fitted option?

I wonder if mud flaps help?

This is the 1st bad thing I have heard about the ?query? build quality. Or is it our terrible roads? Still an "off roader" should cope with a bit of loose gravel methinks....what do you all say?

Had our Yeti just over a week now, and had a stone hit the windscreen this morning, just about 1cm from the top. Big crack, approx. 20cm long now, so need to get the windscreen replaced :( £75 excess. Just hope Autoglass have Yeti windscreens in stock.

Thats interesting, only had my yeti 8 days but twice I have had the windscreen hit by a stone, no damage fortunately.

Cant see why the Yeti should be more prone so can only assume its the state of the roads. :(
