Strange rear fog/tail bulb

Featured Replies

One of the rear lights failed on my wife's Fabia. I realised that the rear lights use a double filament bulb; the other filament being for the rear fog light. I assumed that they were standard 12volt 21/6watt offset pin bulbs.

Wrong! It turns out that they are offset and staggered pin 12volt 21/4watt bulbs, only obtainable from your local Skoda or VW dealer at the outrageous price of 49p! I don't know whether this is true for other Skoda models but I've now found out that VW Passats use 4 of the same strange bulb in each of their rear lights.

Motorfactors do em around here

Supoosed to stop people jamming single bulbs in the double sockets, it happens rather alot with humourous results.
