vRS Instrument Cluster

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I spent a few hours in my mate's 2005 Audi A3 Sportback 2.0T today, and after having a play around discovered that it has a "Digital Speedometer" that can be displayed on the LCD screen in the instrument cluster. After getting home I was disappointed to find my vRS doesn't have the same feature although it has all the others (distance to empty, instantaneous/average fuel consumption etc). Is there any way to get this to show up? It's quite handy to milk as much as possible out of the 10km/h tolerance that the NZ Police so kindly allow...

Mine does. 55 plate VRs and it shows current MPH - selectable using the one of the stalk rocker buttons.

Hmm, tried the rocker button and the reset button but nothing worked. On the Audi you just press the reset button and it appears. Is yours the facelift model? I've heard that facelift models have it but not the original shape Octavia II.

Sorry, I am a fool. You're right, I can't see a digital 'current speed' readout either. I must have confused the average speed for it at one point and then never checked again.

My facelift maxidot has the speed in km/h (and I believe that the rest of Europe have the mph indicator here) but it can't be switched between km and miles...I have a fiscon bluetooth unit thatI haven't installed yet...I think that once it's installed it should give me the speed option in mph too through the Fiscon menu...

...EDIT - although I'm not sure where it pulls this data from...would it be any more realistic than the tacho?

Hmmm that's strange...sure that the page didn't say that when I bought it....ah well, installed it last night so at least I'll be able to make calls once it's been coded in!
