Where is the low side charging port?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me where the low side charging port is to recharge my air conditioning? I am planning to use an air con service in a can from Halfords to fully regass the air conditioning but do not know where the lower port is to attach the can to.

This is the can I intend to use www.interdynamics-europe.co.uk/ourproducts/product.php?id=28

Hi,

It might help if you gave some more info on what model octavia you have, is it a diesel? etc

Just look for the R134a label. As you look from the front of the car, it's near the top left of the radiator.

If you want to do it yourself, then don't buy from Halfords. It's twice the online price. Just search eBay for EZ Chill.

If you are not getting any cold air at all from the A/C, then you may need to get it evacuated and regassed. This may be cheaper than DIY if you end up using 2 cans, and it will give better results.

Cheers Briskodian followed your instructions bought the gas cheap and it was £15 well spent the air conditioning is now really cold as it should be and this makes a massive difference
