Just called my dealer (Malrborough) and been told that my car is at the port of entry. Asked if I was likely to be able to pick it up next Saturday and was told no. Does it really take over a week to get to the dealer and get prepped?

Thanks

Dont forget that your car isnt the only one needing pdi'd and cleaned etc.

Indeed, mine should be on its way by now - in fact I'd hope that it is in the UK already!

Yes could easily take longer. Mine took 2 weeks from arrival in Grimsby to getting to my dealer in Bedford although that was over the Christmas period

OK, calm down and think of something else for a week or so otherwise all you're doing is winding yourself up over when the car will be ready. Its in the country for Christs sakes!!

Sorry - I know its like an itch you can't scratch but.............

The main issue is that my company car goes back on Friday so I'm without a car until I can pick it up. Unfortunately I had to give my company car back on a pay day so it was either this coming Friday or 4 weeks later. Gonna be a pain having no car!

I know the feeling... Mine is somewhere between Factory and my dealer in Swansea...

Trouble is I'm going holiday on Friday.. very nervous about leaving either car: -

1. If I get my new one before I go away, there'll be a shiny new Octavia on my drive for a week (though enough people around to look after it)

2. What if my current car gets pinched - I need that for trade in! lol.

Tempted to leave my current car at the dealer before I go away, that way I'll get the Mrs to take me to the dealer when we're home :)

We called our dealer yesterday - car is "on the way" but they said they need 7-10 days before arranging a pickup date. It's a shame as we were hoping to be able to collect it next weekend

My dealer said i'd be "pushing it" to get it before the 16th.

Oh well, it'll be safe there until I get back :D

yeah thats because i'd hope he's getting mine ready ASAP :D as mine appears to be in the country and im waiting to get it from Swansea!

Sinclair ?

What date did they say you could pick it up? :D

Yep Sinclair in Swansea, they didnt say the date yet but im going to be pushing for next Saturday since they should have the car at the start of the week, when did you place your order and what build week were you given? Martin has been fairly good about giving me regular updates on my order Via Email.

I ordered on March 11th, though I picked one already in the system which had a Week 13 (w/c 29th March) build date.

I've been dealing with Andy - and I've rung him once a week to find out where we are.

He says my car was signed off at the Factory on 2nd April and was "in transit"

When I placed the order he said that they'd get the car w/c 19th April

I'm going down there tomorrow evening to give them my reg docs and etc for my private plate transfer :D

well i ordered mine on the 28th of Jan it was a week 13 build, if you happen to see a Black VRS in the compound keeping yours company say hello to it as it's mine, I've been dealing with Martin with my order, seem a good bunch down there no pressure at all.

I certainly will.

I'll be popping down tonight after work (Hopefully it'll be there by now so I can make my day already more awesome than it already is - passed another Cisco Certification exam this morning)

Might even try and get a sneaky pictar :D

It was great to meet you at the dealer last night Waplord!

Couldn't believe we'd both be there at the same time lol

i know, im not stalking you honest  the real bitter pill is, it looks like im going to be picking a car up from the dealer on saturday morning and its going to be my mothers Yeti not my lovely VRS!

Waplord and Gorebush, I have just ordered a new VRS CR estate from Sinclair Swansea too. Just need to wait the 12 weeks or so for it to be built!!!!! Dealt with Martin and Andy and both have been superb so far with a great deal on the car (basically matched the DtD and webuyanycar exchange price). Hope you both get your cars soon.
