My first Skoda is on order

Featured Replies

Thanks to an excellent px on my 20 mth old Alfa 159 Ti Sportwagon (210), I have now placed an oder for a black Octavia 1.8 DSG Elegance HB, which should arrive in about 3 weeks, and I can't wait.

The Octavia may not be as good looking as the Alfa (IMO) but its better value for money, faster 0-60, cheaper to run, more spacious, more economical, has a quieter engine, fewer rattles and creaks, and the DSG is absouletly fantastic, (and hopefully the paint will stay on a bit better). I did try the PD and CR diesels but these engines were just too noiticable for me. The dealer is Meadens in Sway in the New Forest and the VAT free deal means that I will be getting some money back.

What dealer fitted accesories would anyone reccommend?

Welcome, Enjoy your new car when it arrives, must be a good deal if you are getting money back, unless the Alfa was lots of money to start with.

Edit to say,

Just looked at the Alfa list price :o They were alot of money to begin with.

Hi Gary R M,

I have just placed an order for an Octavia 1.4 DSG Elegance Hatchback. The only dealer fitted accessory I have ordered is a rubber boot mat and I certainly didn't go for the £300 gardstuff wax polish! However, I did contact my dealer several days after placing my order to add the curtain airbags option. Having done some research it appears that the side airbag in standard Elegance spec does not protect the head in a side impact. My dealer was reluctant to acknowledge this or help at first, but with my insistence he got onto the Skoda website and found that my order was still not processed and was able to add them - at under £250 surely a worthy addition and something that comes as standard in many makes of car these days.

I am not expecting mine in less than 2 months, and like you can't wait!

Incidentally, this is my first posting so hello everbody!

Regards,

Nemluvimcesky (if I can get this name fixed on the site as I have had some difficulty in signing on)!
