Bluetooth through the Stereo

Featured Replies

Hi All

Octavia VRS CDI 09 plate

I know that at time of purchase you can specify (at additional cost) the facility to upgrade the stereo to allow hands free connection with a Bluetooth phone. I bought the car second hand - does anyone know if the stereo can be upgraded (it's the touch screen version) now to allow Bluetooth connection and if so how much?

Thanks

You've got 2 options:

  1. Parrot MKI9200, which costs about £150 and will give you full ipod control, line in, USB input and an SD card slot as well as A2DP Bluetooth streaming and Bluetooth handsfree. You will need to mount a second screen and a controller on your dash though
  2. Fiscon unit - will cost about £450 but will fully integrate with your car stereo seamlessly without any visible add ons

the previous poster forgot to add that you can retrofit the "factory fit" bluetooth module. Send a personal email to Ben @ Shark Performance - he'll sort you out.

Ben, will be doing my car in just over a weeks time, retrofitting the OEM or "factory fit" Bluetooth module, that I forgot to add when I ordered it.

Is the bluetooth module the same as the bluetooth option for £400 odd or is it something different. What does the bluetooth preparation for the Bolero actualy do/allow you to do and how much is it?

Another option for the OP would be the Bury 9060 that I have. It is one extra touch screen but offers great phone functionality.

Ask Ben aka shark_90, I'm sure that he'll be happy to tell you the details.
