manifold gasket screws tightened - now a metallic vibration

Recommended Posts

All

As above, the nuts / screws to the at the manifold gasket came loose, causing a loud metallic rattle. these were tightened up by the garage as thought was a blown gasket but thankfully was not.

Now i have what can only be described as a metallic vibration at about 2000-2500 rpm, which, although relatively quiet, is just soo ruddy annoying when i know it is there!! especially when driving in town.

It may be these have not been tightened enough?? The vibration has only ever been since the screws were tightened.

How easy are these to look at and tighten up further by myself?

Experience level under bonnet is check oil, water, coolant etc!

Any photos would be very much appreciated!!

Many Thanks

Gordon

It's also possible that the exhaust system has shifted, and something's now making contact with the body or suspension (or X cross-brace). Easiest way to check that one is to ask a friendly/quiet exhaust fitter.
