Does anyone know the final gearing (mph/1000rpm) on both the 7-speed DSG and the 5-speed gearbox on the 1.2TSi Fabia ?

It could be that the 7-speed DSG is substantialy more economical when cruising at 70mph. The EU figures already show it slightly better than the manual at 56mph.

It could also be quieter at 70mph?

I don't know the final gearing, but from descriptions, 7th gear in the DSG is a cruiser and is where you get the extra economy extra-urban. If that's the case, then it will be quieter at 70mph than the 5 speed. You'll still get tyre noise of course.
