Cold engine im guessing?

Looks like the usual sut what blows out when you give your car a handful. But if Youve started the engine cold and doing this it will be the condensation blowing out mixing with the black smoke??

water temp its self was still high and id been home 30mins so not stone cold.. If seen it come out of tuned cars... but standard??

:giggle:

Petrol or Derv.

If the latter, a bit of smoke and soot isn't unusual after washing the car etc.

Its petrol,

I stated before it was standard.. Thats not technically true. I have a BSH Filter fitted.. (AKA loud throttled goose)

Just wondering could it be condensation and carbon mix? just being free'd from the exhaust?

That is what it is, remember in the engine you are burning hydrocarbon fuels, so one of the by products is water, it is always there and is usually expelled as steam so you don't notice it, however like you state, when the car has been stopped for a while, the steam left in the exhaust condenses into water and what you are seeing is that water, along with some soot which has been trapped in it, being blown out of the exhaust by the sudden rush of gases. I wouldn't worry about it, especially if there is no sign of it after you have been on a longish run and got everything nice and hot.
