Intermittent Cruise Control Not Working

Featured Replies

Update is Cruise control still not working. Latest VCDS scan not showing any faults. If I disconnect the battery, the CC will work for as long as I don't  touch on/off controls or brake/clutch. Once I do it does not come back on.

VCDS guy on here suggested that the battery could be the problem and thinking about it, when the Skoda one died during lockdown I swapped it for my 2 year old Toyota Avensis battery. Reading elsewhere on the forum posts suggest that a battery replacement needs recoding. Could this be my problem?

@NobbyTucker

Did CC work before battery change?

Whenever my CC is disengaged by depressing the brake pedal I have to reselect the speed up/down to reengage it, the on/off switch remaining on.

@NobbyTucker It might be nowt to do with this and I've said it before...........

But I just re-soldered the contacts on the switch's mcb in the stalk, fitted it back together and it has worked ever since......

Does your switch's mcb have a push on plug or soldered wires???

I used some contact cleaner on the stalk. Injected it down the sides. Left it over night and it works a treat. I used WD40 contact cleaner btw. There's no residue and dries quickly.

CC works everytime now!
