Hi all,

When revving between 2500 & 3000 revs, odd ticking noise from engine. Sometimes a rattle, like loose nut or something - like a washer rattling around. Any ideas? Know this might be a rubbish description. '08 Octavia with 12.5k miles.

Worse when with a cold engine.

It would be helpful if you could let us know whether it's a petrol or diesel, what size of engine etc

Oops, sorry! 1.9Tdi.

Just an annoying tick when either trying to pull away quickly or when requiring extra power at speed.

could be your turbo going a bit knackered .... is it a loud tick, get faster when you put the boot down ?

Tick is only just audible from inside car. Louder when window open. Most audible when engine is cold. Settles down after engine has warmed up, however if i put my foot down, it does get louder. Ticks get quicker as the revs go up. Def seems to be when turbo kicks in.

12.5k & a knackered turbo? Maybe a dodgy one?
