Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi,

I noticed yesterday that when I put my 55 plate Octavia into reverse the rear parking aid no longer comes up on the radio, the initial beep doesn't sound and the whole system is inactive.

Googled it and found you can enter diagnostic mode by placing the car in reverse with the ignition on, but not the engine running.

Nothing happened at all..... anyone else experienced this?

Do the reversing lights work still? My car has had a problem with the reversing light switch in the past (while my dad owned it), think it was just a loose connection or something. I imagine that the reversing sensors use the same switch to know when to turn on.

I thought of that, but when we checked they both come on!

Thought I'd worked it out..... hadn't checked the fuse!!!

Googling it has mentioned a control box that can get water in it???

Anyone know anything about this?

Really wants a fault scan to see if anything shows uo.

See if anyone close to you has VagCom and they may be able to scan your car for beer tokens

Sounds like a good plan..... does anyone live in the Portsmouth area with this 'VagCom'?
