Just wondering what you guys have experienced with your similar engined cars?

I've owned my Fabia for 8months now, in that time I've covered 13,000 miles (it's got 85,000 now).

I've topped up a litre (bottom of dipstick to top) just the other day. This means it's used 1 litre in 2500 miles. Maybe the cold weather made a difference?

for what it's worth, the car has had a full service history before I bought it (annual servicing), and I've put it thru 2 oil changes in the short time i've owned it (using VW 507 oil and oem filter)

Is 2500 miles / litre acceptable ?

Certainly within the quoted limits by the manufacturer, but a bit on the high side to be honest. My VRS uses 250ml every 5000 miles.
