What does multi f wheel actually control

Featured Replies

Will it control the multi function computer, the going forward and back on cd / ipod. Change radio from 1- 6 from the memory. Mute sound?

Or is it it just volume and not that great?

The one on my golf does all of the above and phone but I have no phone installed. Just debating still whether to order a dsg wheel to have the flexibility and avoide crashing

It does the stereo (track up/down, station up/down etc) and the phone (if fitted) It doesnt control the trip computer - thats done via the buttons on the wiper stalk.

I have been onto Skoda for a couple of weeks now and can confirm is does control the steering of the vehicle. :giggle:

I think it does IIRC from the FL model that had MF wheel fitted to the car I test drove. I don't have the MF wheel so can't be 100% sure.

I have an FL vRS with the multi-function wheel and can confirm it does control the computer / maxidot / MFD. No need to use the stalk controls at all.

MDI control via the steering wheel seems pretty limited.

You can go forward or back within the current folder being played and increase/decrease volume. Thats about it.

The thing missing is the ability to change to another folder ie a different album without having to move to the touchscreen. I haven't found it yet!

I have multifunction steering wheel and with that option there are NO buttons on the wiper stalk. All maxidot functions via a little roller wheel/button on the steering wheel.

I was thinking this would be the case - My MKV Golf was completely controlled by the steering wheel; however it did have a specific 'Menu' button. I can only presume it's the same case that the menu cannot be used whilst the car's in motion? That is, apart from flicking between MPG/RADIO/TEMP and the like?
