Good service from Skoda Assist

Featured Replies

2008 Octavia VRS PD TDI, 25K miles.

On friday, for the first time I had the DPF warning light come on , together with "engine" symbol. According the manual this meant a failed auto-regeneration of the DPF and I needed to take it for a 30min steady run. I did this yesterday , but after 10 mins the flashing "bulb filament" light came on and the engine went into "limp" home mode. I suspected a sensor fault and not the DPF as the car has been very reliable till now and i dont have to drive in stop/start commuter traffic; which is bad for the DPF seemingly.

I rang Skoda Assist at 0830 today (sunday) and they got a technician round to my house for 0930. (By which time Id gone to work in the camper van leaving father-in-law on site to greet the the chap when he arrived).

By lunchtime the DPF pressure sensor fault had been detected, the sensor replaced and the motor was up and running again after a test drive.

Great service IMO.
