Haldex Filter + Oil Change

Featured Replies

As my Haldex Filter + Oil hasnt been changed for the best part of 65,000 miles obviously it is time it was done!

I'm assuming this can be done as a D.I.Y job? If so anybody got any pictures of filler/drain plugs location or where to find them?

Also lately I've noticed on certain road surfaces that the front wheels are spinning when they never used to? Would this possibly be an issue with the Haldex not getting the info to take up drive? It coped with all the snow and ice, but I'm thinking that the snow masked the front wheel spin?

Or am I on the wrong track here and its something else I should be looking at?

Any suggestions welcome, its so much easier with my Land Rovers!

haldex filter and oil change can b e diy'd however its a right PITA to get to, and you need the filter removal tool, its much much much easier to get to when the car is on a ramp and done from below.

Have you done a diagnostic check on the car to see if any fault codes come up?

Thanks for the reply. Access and tools not a problem, mate owns a garage, so ramp is free:yes:

Ran diagnostics and only codes are engine related.

If the filter housing is alloy you may have to unscrew the caphead that holds the filter to it , I couldn't get it out of the subframe otherwise , and the special tool is a must , its hard enough to see the housing let alone undo it .
