Hi

Just subscribed!

I own a Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v elegance Estate.

Purchased second hand - one owner last July 2004.

First impression? Nice car indeed.

Problems? A few!

1. the same day I purchased it, the rear right electric window (behind driver) was not working - motor fine, just mechanically not moving.

Gone back same day and they repaired it within a week. They said they replaced the (stupidly made in) plastic clip.

Two months later, the same happened! Never used that window and will never use it, as the third person in our car sits on the other side - always! Contacted them on Tuesday 2 weeks ago and had it done on Thursday this week.

Guess! Today I got the car out of the garage and thought to try that window. It does not work again!

I went down our dealer (good job it is only 1 mile from home!) and told the sales exec about it, since the after sale customer care do not work weekends. They told me to coma back on Monday! So, I said to them, why can't you leave a note? Don't you speak to each other? mmm!

Customer care, eh!

So, it is the third time now! I wonder when can I get that part., as I want to make it in metal and when it happens (out of our year guarantee) I will replace it myself and it will probably last.

Come to think of it, I had said to my wife last night (when I had tried the window and was still working) it does not sound right. I am an electronics technician repairer of TVs and Computers mainly and I do know mechanisms as well and that noise was different from the other windows.

So I said to my wife: 'I bet it will break again soon', I did not expect to fail so quickly though!

2. Loads of condensations comes out from the exhaust. Is that normal?

3. Car is noisy when driving it away from the garage, for 100 metres or so (humming, like breaks stuck on the discs!)

4. same noise when releasing hand break

Are there any other things I should be aware?
