I was driving home from work there and the car lost power and the battery light came on. It was fine one I started her up again which leads me to my second issue, the temp gauge didnt move at all and stayed at the starting temp for the rest of the journey.

Any idea what could have cause this?

Would this cause both issue and is it a big job to get fixed??

Relay 109 is cheap (£15) and easy to replace DIY.

Just drop the panel immediately above the pedals, pull the old relay and plug in the new one. It is even likely to have 109 printed on it in 1cm high digits.

You should really get the codes read.
