3700 miles in 2 weeks

Featured Replies

Just got back from a trip to see my Dad in Spain. We did 3700 miles in 15 days in the Fabia and it was superb. Even four up she still pulled well uphill, and on the decent continental roads it was quiet and rode superbly. My Dad couldnt believe it was only a 3 cylinder 1.2, had to show him the tiny engine. Back in the UK the difference in road roar and the ride was startling. Averaged around 45mpg which included a lot of 80mph autoroute driving so happy with that. The car used no oil or water and nothing went wrong or fell off!

To be honest I cant see any reason why youd need more than the 1.2 70hp in a Fabia. In the grand prix starts from the toll booths in France we beat a fair few cars :giggle:

If it wasnt for the rattly airbag lid and slightly dissaponting dealer service, Id be 100% happy but as it is Im pretty happy. Oh, and the fact the paint chips easier than anyhting Ive ever owned is a bit naff.

After seeing about a million new Ibizas in Spain, Ive really warmed to them and gone off the new Polo totally. The Fabia is a fairly rare sight in France and Spain, but they have no taste in cars in either country!

I'm not a fan of petrol powered cars...but that brilliant little 1.2 engine is the exception to my rule. Your trip proves what little gems they are...pretty much unburstable! Glad you are pleased with it.
