Mudflaps for Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

As per normal our local Dealer says you cannot fit mudflaps to the Vrs because of the different bodywork fitted.

With luck, somebody can prove them wrong!!!

Fronts - yes (I have 'em)

Rears - not yet. The standard furby mud flaps wont fit the vRS rear bumber.

Had a look again at modding a standard set this weekend, but it is a definate no-go.

The rear mudflaps push on over the bumper lip and screw into the inner arch liners on a standard fabia.

It is not possible to use these on the vrs as the lower apron of the rear bumper wraps around the bumper and forms a lip.

You physically can not cut/mod these to fit as there isn't enough material on the standard flaps.

The only way I can forsee the vrs getting some is if everybody who wants them badgers skoda uk, or another company makes an individual fit set.

My Fabia vRS has been fitted with standard front mudflaps. They do help stop chips and oil specks. My question is has anyone noticed any drag or difference in top speed after fitting them?. Also if I decide to remove the flaps are they just clamped on or will I need some kind of blanking plugs for the holes?. Thanks in advance.

It is possible to fit the standard rear fabia mudflaps to a vRS, it does mean trimming the lip (as previously mentioned) on the rear bumper, it is an extremely simple job.

I removed the rear wheels for a bit more room then used a pneumatic belt sander to trim the lip down, some people have tried heating up the area with a heat gun or hair dryer then using a stanley blade to trim the lip. There was a guide on here IIRC. Once the lips been trimmed down the mudflaps slot over the edge of the bumper, which hides the work thats been done to the bumper.

If you know what needs cut it wont take any longer than 30 mins to have them fitted, maybe a bit longer if your taking your time.

Yep mike07vrs is correct got a set of rears on mine took 30 mins to fit - cut the plastic bumper with a stanley knife

as above its really easy just got to trim the bumper abit, then file it down. dont worry if u think it going to look savage because the mud flap covers it up. to cut the bumper i used a stanley knife and in 1 careful motion just slice from bottom to top ( or vise versa which ever you find easiest) the screw holes are already there too so no drilling involved.

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL BATMAN !!! .... :giggle: FROM 2004!!!

respect for using the search function where many others have failed :giggle: ........

There are many threads about mudflaps, This being one that was started in 2004. I'm sure I read in one of them that rear flaps from a Mk4 or Mk5 Golf fit better than the standard Skoda rear ones.

This was the How-to guide: Fabia vRS rear mudflaps 'How To' It was started in 2005 and originally had pictures in it.
