hi, just joined. have just purchased my second mk1 octavia vrs. The first one i owned was an ex-demonstrator and came with full koni adjustable suspension and miltek s/s exhaust fitted by skoda, touch!! However since my new one is entirely standard, it looks like its riding way too high and handling is totally different as can be expected, im just wondering if anyone can advise me on some lowering springs, ive found some on internet ( jamex 35mm front and rear £80) i know with springs alone it will be nothing like the set up i had before, but wonder if it will be really uncomfortable and not worth the work, simply cant afford whole set !!!! Hope someone can help, many thanks !!!!

If you want to use lowering springs, you should really uprate the dampers too if you want it to handle well. Typical setup would be Koni FSD dampers and H&R lowering springs. That's a really popular setup, but can be expensive with the dampers.

Alot of people, including me, decide to go the coilover route. As it offers better value for money in the long term, and the adjustability of being able to set the car exactly how you like it. The most popular kit is the Weitec Hicon GT setup, and that's probably middle of range in terms of price. AP's are the cheaper option, and KW's are the more expensive.

If your looking at the short term, and limited on cash, then you could just get the H&R springs and run them on the standard dampers. Although you're running the risk of having poor damping, and having to upgrade to the expensive FSD's at a later point. Up to you anyway.

Just make sure you buy RS specific springs/dampers, as the RS uses different spring rates to the standard models. People have tried it in the past with non RS Eibach springs, and found the handling to be shocking.

Yeah I just missed the codding offer when I got mine! Damian did offer me a discount on further purchases though, so it's all good. Even though I've not taken up the offer yet!

Tribunal? Dare I ask! Did you kill another man? :bandit:
