Poor Headlamps

Featured Replies

Hi Guys I have just been out in the dark for the first time in my new Fabia Sport 1.9 tdi and the lights are CRAP , I cant believe how bad they are especially on main beam   The question is how can I improve them and as they are the projector type lamp do I just need 2 replacement bulbs or 4

Get some of these replace all 4 , check fitment H7 Philips Xtreme Power +80% 12V 55W

HI you could just replace bulbs ring do some sportz blue higher watts so will be brighter but they do class them as off road use only but hid gas discharge lights are even brighter but they are not cheap bulbs are about 30 quid new lamps are 300 quid the choice is yours

i have found the Fabia lights ok, not great but no worse then many others! The Phillips mentioned had a good review in a bike make recently, for H4 bulbs which I think this car takes. The HID stuff has to be self levelling, to be road legal, though so be careful there. Anything marked for off road use, may get you in trouble if you get noticed and also, the higher wattage may drain the battery, making the alternator work too hard or may overheat the wiring or headlight lens so again, caution is needed!

I have these Philips Xtreme Power jobs in mine and they were a good upgrade. Still road legal and fairly cheap.

I have it in mind there's a Briskoda partner company that does good deals for members too!

yes you have got to be carefull about higher watt bulbs eg bigger fuses had a set of eighty watt ring rally sports in an old golf mklll (standard bulbs very poor) for almost three years never had a problem with the law or wiring but you take risk they can only tell you to take them out but nearly all modern car that come with hid lamps are even britghter than the highest wattage bulbs eg ring rally sport h4 which you can get 130watt main beam and ninety watt dipped the philips are good but not much brighter because same watts its a bit like your household bulbs the higher the watts the brighter the light if you dont want to go higher watts then try ring xenon max 100 percent more light than your standard bulbs people tell me there pretty good not tried them myself and before you ask no i dont work for ring but do sell them along with philips bulbs at my motorworld shop in wakefield top of northgate inside charliebrowns if any one cares, hope this helps you decide
