Raised Coil Packs

Featured Replies

Every so often the car runs a bit rough and when i lift the bonnet i find one of the coil packs has lifted slightly. Does any one know why this happens, is it just bouncing them out from the road or is it poor sealing spark plugs allowing them to be pushed out.

Its normally because the spark plugs are incorrectly gapped, or the car has been remapped and the plugs haven't been gapped to suit. It makes them pop up off of the plugs. You can either swap to an uprated set of plugs or buy a coilpack hold-down bracket (or make your own, someone on here did one recently)

Yeah i've seen the kits but thats a lot of money for some bent metal. It's not chipped and the plugs are the none adjust sort (can't remeber which ones i've slept since) Might look at changing them again as i'm sure they are the set one of the packs failed on and might be 'sooted'
