New (to me) vRS

Featured Replies

After viewing a couple of different cars and some hunting around I picked up my 2006 vRS on Friday.

Took it straight down to Bedford (from Huddersfield) for the weekend and seems like it's gonna be a great car. Managed 35mpg on my first tank so shouldn't cost the earth to run either.

The power is so effortless, my previous car was a Corolla T Sport, which is probably just as quick if both cars are flat out, but the power delivery is just completely different. Very easy to let the speed creep up on the motorway too - seems happier to cruise at 90 than 70!

Had a slight wind noise issue but that's been sorted by "adjusting" (i.e. hitting with a hammer) the fixed glass in the rear windows.

Booked in with Shark Performance in a couple of weeks' time for fitting of maxidot, cruise (definitely needed - see above!), bluetooth and iPod link, then she'll be pretty much as I want.

Maxidot is £350 supplied and fitted. Was trying to find one with it already (needed for bluetooth) but this one worked out cheaper in the end and was in very nice condition.

Not sure what extras mine has - definitely 18s and the dual climate/armrest pack. Should be quite a nice spec when I'm done though!
