Featured Replies

please help ......... my car has feelings

as soon as i start looking at a replacement things have stopped working

rear washer now not working, but i do seem to have a water leak under drivers seat area outside ......

at 1st thought might be pipe off washer but no water apparent leaking from that area

but after having a play today water seems to be dropping out side just under drivers seat ......

any help, or is it a visit to my local dealer that is required

Hi Mine has stopped working last week. I noticed water was collecting the the spare wheel compartment. After having a good look around and removal of various bits of trim noticed the pipe has come aprt just above the wheel arch. know your water leak is in a different place to where mine was. Maybe your is just some run off. Good test would be use the washers where there is no water and see if you have the leak under the seat. and also have a look in the spare wheel compartment to see if there is any water there

Cheers and good luck finding the leak.

I fixed mine last Saturday - no tubes disconnected, just clogged nozzles. If this is the problem just lift the plastic cover over the rear wiper pivot. Then pull the nozzle out. You might need a pliers and a bit of wiggling to remove it. The nozzle pulls straight out of the end of the shaft that drives the wiper. To clear the nozzle I blasted compressed air through it. This is a recurring problem with Octavias because the nozzle opening faces upwards so dust in the air can land in it. To keep the nozzle open I plan on giving the rear window a wash every time I use the front washer from now on.

Have a look here guys:

Rear Washer Thread

Seems to be a common problem for the pipe in the boot to become disconnected, if that's happened you'll probably find the boot carpet damp/wet or water sitting in the spare wheel well.

Hope this helps, Ed :)

My rear washer wasn't working (front OK, pump OK - just no fluid). Found the pipe had come off behind the boot trim. Easy-peasy fix (5 mins).

See how long it takes Ben at Shark to find this thread. We were trying to fix the exact same problem on Saturday. We tried several methods

Hi Skodaowna,

Can you give me any tips on how to get behind the boot trim? - I don't want to go wading in and damage anything on my way to the washer pipe!

Thanks in advance,

Ed :)
