Felicia 1.6 not running great!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got a Felicia Fun, and its not been its normal self of late. It started having an intermittant cough, but I thought nothing of it as most of the time it was its usual gutsy self. However then it got really bad, and now feels like its running on 3 cylinders.

It was sat for about 5 weeks (long story...) but this started before that, and it still does it.

I changed the spark plugs, oil and filter, and its improved but not got rid of the issue. Do we think a good run on good fuel will get rid of the problem, or maybe disconnecting the battery before a good run (I only idled it)

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance (from the owner of an otherwise immaculate Felicia Fun!)

Have you also changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm? Possibly could be a HT lead too.

Also the temp sensor on the thermostat housing can play silly buggers. Even when mine was showing correct temp gauge readings that sensor still caused it not to start properly and hesitate.

i agree with the above, it's most likely to be ignition system related, like a dodgy HT lead or rotor arm/cap

Cool - cheers for that lads,

I'll try the dizzy (that was my next idea) and rotor arm and then try HT leads. I put the HT leads on so I know they're not tool old!

Cheers again - i'll keep you updated!

alex.
