New convert- Elegance Estate 1.6Tdi DSG

Featured Replies

I've just persauded one of my work colleagues to choose a Octy Elegance Estate 1.6Tdi DSG as a replacement company car for his Toledo 2.0TDI PD.

I suggested he should have selected paddle shifters, however, he said it would have been over his monthly leasing allowance.

He was fairly laid back about the quoted 20 week delivery time!

I ordered a new Skoda Octavia 1.6 Diesel DSG 14 weeks ago and have another two weeks to go. Is this long wait the same in every country? I'm from west Cork, Ireland.

Ordered from Cork City 9 weeks ago. Been told my car's being built next week and should be with me two weeks later.

1.6 TDI Elegance with a few extras. Can't believe you've been waiting so long! How do you cope? :)

The car I have is good for now, so I cope OK. It did give me a lot of trouble over the three years I have it. I am a Disabled Driver and the Toyota Corolla I drive has a Servo Clutch; it was fine up to a few years ago but since cars have gone all Electronic, the electronics in the Servo play against the electronics in the car. That is why I am buying a DSG (automatic) which I am really looking forward to.

Today, I went to the garage that I ordered the Skoda Octavia on the 20th January this year and was told (for the third time over the last 15 weeks) it will be now another 3 weeks! I think it will be at least 20 weeks in all. I'm fed up with this waiting. However, I have come this far, another few weeks won't make too much difference.
