Which VW Mirror with built in Indicator will fit a Fabia 1

Featured Replies

I would like to fit Indicators into my side view mirrors on my MK1 Fabia, just like the VW Audi mirrors, does anyone know which VW or Audi mirrors will interchange and if poss any part numbers. I fully understand that the electric feeds will need to be wired into the units.

Thanks in anticipation.

I've looked into this, and it's come up before and I'm sorry to tell yo there isn't a straight swap.. or even an easy mod.

It really is allot of work and only worth following if you reeeeeeeally want em'!

Same goes for power folding mirrors..

I would love power folding mirrors :(

surley it cant be that hard, actually yeah i suppose it could be a bit tricky. I presume you would have to split the side repeater cable and run the new cable through under the dash and to the door including dismantling the carrier on each door to run the cable through to the wing mirror???

something like that anyway. Not too complicated but time consuming.

Or.. disconnect the connection on the side indicator completely and run the cables into the wing mirror, I would've thought fitting would be the more complicated task.. its a shame there is no direct replacement :'( (also would love folding mirrors!)

Next.. anyone tried heated seats? :smirk:

It's not so much the job it's self.. (getting behind the carrier might just be a case of removing the speaker for access?) but the lack of any swappable part to start with.. All the mk4 golf type cars never had either function.. as far as I can remember the superb had folding mirrors as an option at some point but the mirrors aren't really that similar.. just look allot alike on face value.

You could mod your existing mirror for some neat little LED type repeaters but it'll always look like a mod.. no real scope for OEM+ on this one.

Of course.. theres a slim chnace that the CitiGolf or whatever it's called (the mk4 with a mk 5 face that's only made in china or something like that) has these functions on a mirror that's similar enough to retrofit?

By the time the Polo got repeaters up here it's moved on to golf mk 5 era mirrors.

Found this.. it's the City Golf.

This HAS to be your best shot at an OEM+ upgrade? But have a sneaky feeling they're just polo mirrors with new bases rather than a new mirror on the original base,

Lucky Mk4 Golf owners have a nice OEM+ route to take though!

Would be good if you could get the folding mirrors or indicators built in. It does look like that city golf uses the existing mirror base. But god does that front end look wrong looks like a Mk4 Golf thats crashed into a chrysler sebring.
